WELLS COUNTRY CLUB, INC.
The “train” is still moving down the track on the journey for the new AWCC Clubhouse & Pro Shop. It takes many dedicated, talented and willing volunteers to accomplish successfully this project and AWCC is fortunate to have a great crew of member and non-member volunteers. In all endeavors not everyone can be “absolutely satisfied” with the progress, however, if you do have issues, comments or concerns they will be addressed. Please submit them in writing to the Executive Office and a time will be scheduled to meet with you individually or with the Board. This process does help to eliminate misunderstanding or skewed information. Thank you for your cooperation!
All permits have been applied for and all of the appropriate agencies.
The demolition of the clubhouse building has been tentatively scheduled for October 13, 2008. The construction of the new building will commence immediately following demolition. We are still on track and the completion of the progress is scheduled for nine or ten months (August 2009).
The City of Mesa has received our plans (97 pages) on September 8, 2008. The City has 22 working days to express their objections in writing to the architect. The Construction Committee is also reviewing the plans and will be submitting any additional ideas or comments directly to the architect.
Value Engineering This process has been ongoing since the project began. Recent material pricing and availability of products has prompted our General Contractor to revisit some of the price issues. This can be a positive position for our project and also in the equation is the availability of sub-contractors and labor.
The Mesa Fire Department and Mesa Police Department will use the “old” clubhouse facility for training maneuvers and exercises. These activities are scheduled for the first week of October. The maneuvers will be conducted during the day and night and will include search and rescue, communication drills, SWAT, anti-terrorist and related training events.
Your patience, understanding and courtesy is greatly appreciated during the construction process. Many things will be an inconvenience and possibly frustrating, but please keep a smile on your face and a good attitude. Thanks!
