RESTAURANT CLOSURE: Desert Peaks closes this Friday, April 25, 2008.

BASEMENT DEMOLITION: The basement demolition of the cart barn has been completed. The goal is to house all 60 golf carts completely in the basement without parking on the ramp. Don Scott thanks all the volunteers for their hours of sweat and toil. The list of volunteers include Larry Stalnaker, Harry Lipert, By Hanson, Mark Mueller, Jack Gordon, Bud Diehl, Don Stueve, Dewey Winslow, Doug Nord, Jim Filkins, Bob Curnow, and Phil White.

SOCIAL: The only social date scheduled for next year is the Welcome Back Dance on Wednesday evening, November 5, 2008.

CONSTRUCTION NEWS: The kitchen, bar, and the restaurant have completed a tentative design stage. 3-D conceptual drawings have been developed. The bar and restaurant show a horseshoe design bar that also services the outside patio. A semi-circle of pub tables and chairs surround the bar and chairs, and a semi-circle of regular height tables and chairs complete the restaurant seating. A stage and dance floor finish the design. The Design Review should be completed by the end of May. All construction documents and permits should be finished by September. The temporary facilities are programmed to be mobilized and installed by late May, early June with utilities and move-in to be later this summer. Demolition of the building is slated for later this summer, prior to September. Construction should begin by late September. Construction should be completed by late May, early June. November of 2009 will host the Grand Opening Party. A tighter construction calendar will become available this summer.

Thank you for the many cards, telephone calls and flowers sent following my shoulder surgery, it was all very much appreciated. Also, many thanks for Dot Haugen for her great assistance in running the office during my recovery time and in the collection of the special assessment payments, she has done an outstanding job!

The revised Bylaws, CRR’s and 2008 Membership Roster are available for pickup for those members who have not already picked up their copy. Keep the E.O. advised of any changes in your address, phone info, name changes and email address.
