The AWCC Board of Directors has begun a more aggressive position of sending factual information out to our members in the form of “e-blasts.” Hopefully, these will be sent on a weekly basis in between the monthly newsletters in order to provide more timely and accurate information. This will be an email only communication. If you cannot open an attachment, or do not receive email, then contact a fellow member who can, and receive that information from them. RESTAURANT: Over this past weekend, an agreement between the Country Club and Eli Chawki, Desert Peaks @ Apache Wells, our restaurant lessee, signed an addendum to the Agreement between AWCC and Desert Peaks to continue operation of the restaurant until demolition of the clubhouse building. Mr. Chawki’s contract was to end the 28^th of February, leaving us without service for the remainder of the spring and summer. Restaurant hours, continued service, bar hours, etc. were agreed to in the new contract. The new restaurant hours are listed below:

CLUBHOUSE NEWS: On February 13^th, 2008, work began on the mold and asbestos removal of the basement. The two contracts that were signed last week for this work were signed for figures that were slightly under budget. A construction timeline will be provided to our members shortly.

WINGS NIGHT: TICKET SALES, MARCH 11^TH AND MARCH 18^TH $10.00 / PERSON DON’T WAIT TOO LONG, THIS EVENT FILLS QUICKLY. WATCH FOR INFO IN THE MARCH NEWSLETTER AND BULLETIN BOARDS.

SPECIAL ASSESSMENT/NEW CLUBHOUSE CONSTRUCTION

Coming on February 25^th, 2008, a direct mailing to members will be sent out to explain the payment options for the special assessment. Payment options are:

Payment options:

Payment of $6,200 on April 1, 2008
Payments of $3,100 on April 1, 2008 and April 1, 2009
Payment of $2,500 on April 1, 2008 and payments of $600 payable on November 1^st for ten years.
Payment of $73.00 on April 1, 2008 and each month thereafter for ten years.

SCHEDULING SNAFU: An error was made to begin morning shotguns at 8:00 am. This has been corrected, and, effectively IMMEDIATELY, morning shotguns are back to the 8:30 am start (Monday thru Friday) until March 1^st. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.

CLUBHOUSE NEWS: The basement asbestos abatement was completed last week. Plans are “in the works” to expand the cart barn, create additional storage, and remodel some existing rooms. This work will be done “in-house.”

BRICK PROGRAM: February 29, 2008 is the deadline for ordering your commemorative brick. Contact Maxine Donovan at (480)-606-2897.

WINGS NIGHT: March 26^th. Tickets go on sale March 11^th and March 18^th. $10 per person.

ACES: Dick Lucas had a hole in one last week on hole #12. Monday, Dolly Toney also had a hole in one on the very same hole! Both golfers used drivers. Congratulations!!!
