Dear Members,

Hopefully your summers were full of birdies, eagles and a couple pars. A few to many bogies for me, so I will continue to work for a living. We are all aware of the challenging year ahead, many of those challenges can be tackled together with support of a business that you own. As many of you are aware we have obtained a liquor license which will provide another revenue stream for the Country Club. You as members can contribute to those revenues, by purchasing any liquor consumed on the premises you will supporting a business of which you own. A simple concept, I liken it to owning stock of Wal-Mart but going to Target, it makes no sense.

Another question has risen already in regards to tournaments. Tournaments will be status quo, with you earning credits in the golf shop. Yes the golf shop will not be stocked as it usually is, but we can still order anything you want or see in a catalog. Also those credits earned this year will not be removed if not used, we will carry over those balances over to the following year. The golf shop is another area to show support. In a transition year like we are experiencing, in which merchandise sales will be down, I hope you agree that this year should be one that you support the Golf shop even more!

The golf shop staff will as usual provide everyone with the service you expect. We can have another great year at Apache Wells. We ask this year that you show support and bring a cup of patience to get through the challenges we face.

Travel safe on your way here and we look forward to another successful year with your help.

Thanks from your golf shop staff.

E-Blast APACHE WELLS COUNTRY CLUB CONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDDATE OCTOBER 31, 2008

The train is starting to get a full head of steam. Starting October 29, 2008 the construction crew will be concentrating on disconnecting the water to the building and also supplying alternate water to the facilities. This will be completed by November 2, 2008.

On November 5, 2008 thru November 10, 2008 miscellaneous projects such as temporary fencing, disconnecting electricity (rerouting of that service) along with minor demolition inside and outside the building will occur

Demolition of the building will begin in earnest on November 10, 2008 and be completed by November 28, 2008.

While I recognize this tedious process has been slow the basement of the building has been a thorn in our side since the beginning.

The structural and forensic engineers discovered cracks, holes and severe water damage to the basement ceiling and walls, upon the completion of the value engineering on the basement, the cost to AWCC to remedy the situation using the existing walls and ceiling was way out of budget. The architect, general contractor and the construction committee wrestled all summer with various options. Finally on “Plan D” the decision was made to take out the entire basement, walls, ceiling, etc and build the new building from scratch. This decision was the most cost effective way open to us to solve the problem within budget.

Finance Committee

Since the members started funding this project, the Finance Committee (Marilyn Johnson, Donna Richardson, Steve Daughton, Bing Miller (consultant) and myself insisted that all the funds be federally insured.

Our vehicles of investment are and will continue to be banks and you all know what is going on with financial markets.

Mr. Paul Perrault who is our financial consultant with Private Client Services at Wells Fargo has provided the financial services and protection that we require. His personal attention to our well-being has been tremendous. The various committees appreciate your continued patience and understanding over the next several months with the construction project.
